Building a Kenninji Fence

Bamboo fences are a common element in Japanese gardens.  This article explains how to build a Japanese fence known as a kenninji-gaki.  The kenninji-gaki is one of the most popular "screening" fences seen around homes in Japan.  The article includes three helpful tips learned by the author, Dan Lurie, during a recent project.
