KYOTO
WALKING TOUR
(May 9~21, 2010) This 13-day tour offers something for
everyone. Included are visits to some of the finest Japanese Gardens
in the Kyoto area. Also included are unique learning opportunities
related to ikebana, bamboo, gardening, textiles, calligraphy, and the Japanese tea
ceremony. As with all Sukiya Living Tours, this trip will include healthy
amounts of walking, relaxed strolls through neighborhoods and natural areas,

KYOTO GARDEN AND ARCHITECTURE TOUR (October 17-28, 2010) This is a 12-day tour of the top-ranked Japanese Gardens and Sukiya Living Environments in the Kyoto area. The tour includes special visits to many private homes and difficult-to-see Imperial sites. This tour will place a special emphasis on the study of Japan's residential living environment. Included are unique events such as carpentry and tree pruning demonstrations, a visit to a tatami-maker's shop, and opportunities to participate in calligraphy, ikebana, and the Japanese tea ceremony.
