KYOTO GARDEN AND ARCHITECTURE TOUR
(November 2~14, 2008) This is a 13-day tour of the
top-ranked Japanese Gardens and Sukiya Living Environments in the Kyoto area. The
tour includes special visits to many private homes and difficult-to-see
Imperial sites. This tour will place a special emphasis on the study
of Japanese gardening and Japan's residential architecture. Included are
unique events such
as carpentry and tree pruning demonstrations, a visit to a tatami-maker's shop, and
opportunities to participate in calligraphy, ikebana, and the Japanese tea
ceremony. Every Sukiya Living Tour includes healthy amounts of walking, relaxed
strolls through neighborhoods and natural areas, authentic Japanese cuisine,

WALKING TOUR

everyone. Included are visits to some of the finest Japanese Gardens
in the Kyoto area. Also included are unique learning opportunities
related to ikebana, bamboo, gardening, textiles, calligraphy, and the Japanese tea
